The Challenge

Infrastructure is like water - you always expect it when you turn the faucet, but when it doesn't work, you can get very concerned in a hurry. Not surprisingly, for many banks, infrastructure is like a water main - out of sight and out of mind. But, infrastructure costs comprise a large portion of a bank's operating budget, and today, you may find yourself stuck with an expensive, out of date, legacy frame relay data networks supporting your most critical banking applications.

Many community banks' data networks are not capable of efficiently supporting applications, bandwidth requirements, and products & services that community banks use today. The problems with yesterday's network design are many:

• A hub and spoke architecture that breeds multiple points of failure,
• The lack of network circuit redundancy at each branch,
• Long range contracts have baked in higher costs and have not leveraged pricing relief in the technology sector,
• Legacy networks can't prioritize data types using QoS - (Quality of Service) or by using CoS Class of Service).

Finally, many our prospective customers have purchased their branch network connections from their core processor or their ISP. Some Core Processors and ISP's place huge mark-ups on these branch network circuits (100% to 300% mark-up's are common) and they make hundreds to thousands of dollars of profit each month reselling circuits from AT&T and Verizon.

• Five percent markup on AT&T's wholesale pricing of MPLS circuits.
• We manage our circuits solely for the benefit of the community banks.
• Unlike some core processors or ISP's, we don't charge any additional fees for the monthly monitoring of MPLS circuits or your routers and switches, Internet access, or Firewall & IDS services.
• Our foundation prioritizes different types of data through various "Classes of Service" ( 1.Voice 2.Video 3.Processing Data 4.Internet & Email) assuring quick response times. For example, Internet and email is classed as lower priority throughout the data network, as they are not as critical as your processing and banking related applications.
